What is it all about?
‘Warriors, Settlers and Nomads’ was created by Terence Watts to help clients better understand the reasons for the conflicts in their behaviour. By becoming more aware of our personality traits and the reason why sometimes they don’t work in harmony with each other, we are better able to make the changes necessary to live a happier and more positive life.
Were did it all begin?
Before the beginnings of civilisation the human race consisted of nomadic tribes. Eventually one of the nomadic tribes discovered that if they stayed in one place they could farm the land and learn to build shelters out of the recourses in the area.
The first settler were quite happy in their endeavours until a group of Warriors came along and decided that they liked the idea of having everything done for them, so took over the settlement and forced the Settlers to do their bidding.
Eventually the Settlers realised that the Warriors were protecting them and the Warriors learnt to appreciate what the Settlers did for them and so they adapted and learnt to live in harmony.
All the while there were others that continued the Nomadic lifestyle, travelling from pace to place, sharing information.
What does this have to do with Therapy?
Hypnotherapy is a client centred therapy. This means the therapy is tailored to the individual and since everyone is different this is very important. There is a theory that we all have particular personality traits which can be recognised under these three headings. All of us have a Warrior, Settler and Nomad part but quite often one is more dominant than the other two. By working with these personality traits it gives the client a better insight into the way they function.
How do you find out which part of your personality is more dominant?
The book ‘Warriors, Settlers and Nomads’ by Terence Watts, is available on this site, just click on Shop and you will find it. However in the mean time you can take a simple personality test and find out which part of your personality is more dominant.

It is very important to answer the questions below as honestly as you can. If you don’t answer honestly, you won’t get an honest indication of your personality type. Usually the first answer you are drawn to will be the right one for you.
